Enzymes Information
What are enzymes?
Living cells and tissues require basic nutrients and essential substances to divide, grow and perform their normal activities. Most of these substances are synthesized from components of ingested food, water, and other nutritional supplements, or from breakdown products of tissues. The biochemical reactions to synthesize the basic elements required by living cells depend on a steady supply of energy from these sources. Ordinarily, this energy is supplied by a step-by-step oxidation of food components. In addition, the biochemical reactions themselves sometimes release energy. During times of stress or disease, there is am increased demand for the nutrients and essential supplies required by cells. Without very special helpers and at normal body temperature, it would be impossible for the cells and tissues to perform all the essential biochemical reactions required fast enough to meet the basic needs of the body. Fortunately, very specific and remarkable helpers initiate, accelerate and terminate these biochemical reactions. The helpers are highly specific organic substances which have evolved in living organisms and developed the capacity of performing these accelerated tasks to perfection via remarkable and specific catalytic actions. These remarkable substances are called enzymes.
Enzymes are catalysts. They make things work faster. For example, the chemistry of the body is all about utilizing one substance to produce another. Let us call it turning chemical A into chemical B. The biochemical reaction to do this may require energy or release energy, depending on whether molecules A or B contain their own energy.
Regardless of whether energy is required or released, the reaction time is shortened by its specific enzyme, without the enzyme being used up. The reaction is accelerated through the use of enzymes. This acceleration without consumption is the nature of a catalyst. For practical purposes, most biochemical reactions require enzymes since the reaction A to B might take hundreds of years without them.
It seems that enzymes are the fountain of life. Enzymes serve as the labor force to perform every single function required for our daily activities and are required to keep us alive. Digestive enzymes are only a part of the total amount of enzymes in the body. There are about 3000 known enzymes. They are responsible for all the functions of every organ system in our bodies. At the same time they are most important in supporting our body defenses and immune system to protect us from harmful forces and specific dangers to our health. The immune system depends heavily on enzymes to conduct its protective function. In addition we require enzymes not only to eat, digest and absorb our nutrients, but also to see, hear, smell, taste, breathe and move. Enzymes are required for our blood and coagulation system, cardiovascular functions, kidneys, liver, elimination of toxic products, excretion, reproduction, etc. They are required even to think, dream or for sexual excitement. When enzyme activity stops, life stops and the person or organism dies!
There are two major enzyme systems in the human body. One is digestive and the other is metabolic. The digestive enzymes help break down all of the food that we eat so that it can be absorbed by the body. The metabolic enzymes help to run all of the systems of the body from respiratory system to the nervous system.
The seven categories of food (digestive) enzymes and their activities are:
Amylase: breaks down starches.
Cellulase: breaks down fibers.
Lactase: breaks down dairy products.
Lipase: breaks down fats.
Maltase: breaks down grains.
Protease: breaks down proteins.
Sucrase: breaks down sugars.
Health Issues
Enzymes are extremely important to our health. When enzymes are short in supply, or become inactive, the body will suffer. As the body is built from the food we eat, paying attention to what we eat is one of the most important things we can do. Unfortunately we do not eat what our instinct and common sense tells us to do. We do not eat the right quantities of the right foods at the right times and in the proper manner. The results can include digestive disturbances, deposition of fat, and becoming overweight. These findings can be associated with further health problems including disorders of the circulation which lead to more severe cardiovascular disease and disorders of the heart. The reducing diets often recommend generally provide only temporary weight loss and many of them may be even more detrimental to health in the long run.
We should all eat properly and follow a balanced diet containing a substantial amount of fresh foods in each meal. We should also avoid highly processed foods and high levels of preservatives, additives or chemicals. We can also take natural digestive enzymes in order to support the digestion of processed or cooked foods. Every food that has been cooked, boiled, heated, grilled, baked has lost its enzymes and is a burden to our organs which have to supply the digestive enzymes. As almost nobody in our modern age is willing to eat everything raw, you can take digestive enzymes with your cooked, etc., food. (An informative site about raw food is Living and Raw Foods) It is also good to stay away from processed foods as they often contain enzyme inhibitors (to prolong shelf life), chemicals, and sugar (white sugar is destructive to our bodies, and contributes big time to obesity).
Information about Enzymes
The European scientific community has generated great excitement in the field of enzymes, which can be used preventively to prevent illness and give us a longer, healthier life. However in the United States the average person does not know much about enzymes and their importance. Read a well written book that focuses on the therapeutic oral enzymes, but also has a wealth of information about what enzymes are and how they keep us healthy: Enzymes, The Fountain of Life, written by D.A. Lopez, M.D.; R.M. Willians, M.D. and Pg.D., and K. Miehlke, M.D.; published by The Neville Press, Inc.; isbn 1-884303-00-5 . Enzyme supplements
After you have read all about enzymes and why they are so important to our health, the next question is "what can I do about it? We will focus here only on digestive enzymes. Ideally you should eat everything raw. As raw food contains all the necessary enzymes to digest the food, our body does not have to deplete its organs of their necessary enzymes. And thus our body stays healthy. But in this modern age, who can eat everything raw? Make sure you eat enough raw food, but for the rest, supply your cooked or baked food with enzyme supplements.
There are several enzyme supplements on the market, but one of the best supplements is Dr. Howell's N-Zymes, the enzyme supplement we ourselves are using. Dr Edward Howell was an enzyme pioneer who questioned the use of cooked, processed food for human consumption. He found that heating food to 118°F (47.78°C) for more than 15 minutes destroyed all the enzymes. Obviously then, heating foods at higher temperatures for shorter periods also destroys enzymes. Dr Howell wrote two books reporting his life's work: Food Enzymes for Health and Longevity and Enzyme Nutrition.
N-Zymes is made by the National Enzyme Company, and distributed by Enzymes Inc, Parkville, Missouri. The digestive enzyme supplement we are using is called "Genuine N-zymes, Dr. Howell's Original Formula". The capsules contain the enzymes protease, amylase, lipase and cellulase). Advice on Taking Enzymes
When taking enzyme supplements, remember to
open the capsules and sprinkle the enzymes on your food (not too hot please). This way they can start working. Otherwise it will take time for the capsule to dissolve in your stomach.

One also needs to chew one's food well because the digestive enzyme cellulase is trapped inside the fiber itself and must be liberated in the chewing process—otherwise, one experiences the gas and bloating.
Eat plenty of fresh raw fruits and vegetables to maximize your enzyme intake.
Raw seeds or raw nuts, contain enzyme inhibitors which will neutralize some of the enzymes your body produces. In fact, eating foods with enzyme inhibitors causes a swelling of the pancreas. All nuts and seeds contain these inhibitors. Raw peanuts, for example, contain an especially large amount. Raw wheat germ is also one of the worst offenders. In addition, all peas, beans and lentils contain some. Potatoes also have enzyme inhibitors (concentrated in the eyes of the potato). In eggs the inhibitor is contained mainly in the egg white. There are two ways to destroy enzyme inhibitors. The first is cooking; however, this also destroys the enzymes. The second way, which is preferable, is soaking, rinsing and germinating or sprouting. This destroys the enzyme inhibitors and also increases the enzyme content from a factor of 3 to 6. Taking extra enzymes is the third way to neutralize the enzyme inhibitors in ungerminated or unsprouted seeds and nuts.
Fermentation also removes the enzyme inhibitors and it has other benefits too. Fermentation neutralizes unhealthy chemicals found in grains and beans. Second, it adds a host of beneficial micro-organisms to food, making them more digestible and increasing the healthy flora in our intestinal tracts. Grains and beans all contain an acid, myoinositol-hexa, or phytic acid. Phytic acid blocks the absorption of calcium, phosphorus, iron and zinc. A diet high in unfermented whole grains can lead to mineral deficiencies and bone loss. Fermenting grains and beans before eating them neutralizes phytic acid. It also neutralizes enzyme inhibitors and breaks down gluten, sugars, and other difficult to digest elements in grains and beans. The simplest way to lacto-ferment grains and beans is by adding whey and water, and letting them stand for at least seven hours. Beans should ideally stand for twelve hours or more. Yogurt can be added instead of whey, which is a by-product of cheese-making and is commercially available as a powder (sold in health food stores).
Make sure you also read our article about Kefir, a special culture used in the fermentation of milk that adds a lot of enzymes in the process. It is very easy to make kefired milk and it is very healthy! It also is a way of making excellent whey for fermenting your grains and cooked veggies.
Salt is an indirect enzyme inhibitor, so use it sparingly.
Other Sources of Enzymes
There are four major types of proteolytic enzymes: trypsin, chymotrypsin, papain, and bromelain.
Chymotrypsin is a proteolytic enzyme crystallized from an extract of the pancreas gland of the ox.
Trypsin is a proteolytic enzyme also crystallized from an extract of the pancreas gland of the ox.
Papain is derived from the green papaya fruit.
Bromelain is extracted from the pineapple. Because of the relative value of the fruit, the difficulty of processing the juice, and the improvements of methods to extract bromelain from pineapple stems, the source of most bromelain is the stems.
Proteolytic enzymes are enzymes that help you digest the proteins in food. Although your body produces these enzymes in the pancreas, certain foods also contain proteolytic enzymes. Papaya (the unripe fruit) and pineapple are two of the richest plant sources. Papain and bromelain are the respective names for the proteolytic enzymes found in these fruits.
The primary use of proteolytic enzymes is as a digestive aid for people who have trouble digesting proteins. However, proteolytic enzymes also appear to reduce pain and inflammation, which has made them popular in Europe as a treatment for sports injuries and as an aid in recovery from surgery. Supplemental proteolytic (protein-digesting) enzymes also enhance immune function, helping to destroy pathogens; and proteolytic enzymes seems to be good for people with pancreas problems. Digestive enzymes are classified as a food by the FDA., but if you want to take proteolytic enzymes you should discuss this with your doctor.
Another source of enzymes is brewer's yeast which stimulates enzyme activity in the intestines. There are also enzyme preparations available from the pharmacy for digestive disorders. Fermented foods are full of enzymes, like yogurt, sauerkraut, soy sauce and kefir. Check out our kefir page, as kefir is very easy to make and makes you very healthy.

何谓无间?当两个对方跟你有亲密关系,却不合好或当他们相见的是候,你就会困惑在[无间] 道,你会有想要跳墙的感觉,可是又不能,骑虎难下。你又不可以跟任何一方坦诚,因为害怕另一方不高兴,又不可以对朋友或外人透入家事。这条路就叫[无间] 道路,对内无助,对外无门。

Smart Lighting Can Turn LED Lights into WiFi Hotspots

Everyone is a smarty pants. A research team at Boston University is developing a whole new way to use LEDs for more than just energy-efficient lighting. They’re creating Smart Lighting, which would enable wireless communication through visibile light.
Ditching radio frequency, the prototype from BU uses light instead to connect. Each light would essentially be a Wi-Fi hotspot with 1 to 10 megabits per second networking speeds. Data transmission would be done over existing electrical wiring.
“Imagine if your computer, iPhone, TV, radio and thermostat could all communicate with you when you walked in a room just by flipping the wall light switch and without the usual cluster of wires,” said BU Engineering Professor Thomas Little.
I like imagining that.
The Smart Lighting Engineering Research Center is part of an $18.5 million, multi-year NSF program awarded to Boston University, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and the University of New Mexico. Their task is to develop this awesome way to use lighting as a method of wireless communication over the next 10 years.
The possibility of using LED rather than radio waves boosts the potential for energy efficiency. Another interesting point brought up is that since light doesn’t go through walls, wireless evesdropping is limited.
Even cooler, it can potentially be used in the transportation industry. Imagine – Smart cars with Smart lights. Clever.
A Solar Refrigeration System, Carried by Camels

Reaching the nomadic communities who roam the arid and hot Sahel of Africa with vaccines has always posed an exceptional challenge to health workers, particularly because vaccines need to be refrigerated. (See past posts on the Ice Battery.) National immunization programs to eliminate serious diseases like polio and measles rarely benefit pastoralist communities in Kenyan districts like Laikipia and Samburu, nor do those communities often get access other medications requiring refrigeration.
In the last two years, a team of designers, health workers, and development experts from Designmatters at the Art Center College of Design, Princeton’s Institute of Science and Technology of Materials, and the Mpala Community Trust has conceived and rolled out a clever mobile, refrigerated health clinic using solar energy and camels.
While the mobile health clinic still relies on vehicles to carry the supplies to the camels, once they're loaded up the camels transport supplies to remote areas, where local health staff travel by bicycle and foot between camel camps and communities.
In transit, the lightweight, foldable solar panel powers the camel-pack refrigeration system. Once the camel convoy arrives at the remote health clinic site, the panel can be used in combination with larger solar panels to provide power for the health clinic. A foot-powered system provides backup and provides light in the clinic during extended operational hours when solar power is not available.
While nomadic communities have long used camels for transport, the team had to design a new frame for the camels, with a tighter fit that so that the camels could easily carry the solar panels.

Kiss Penguins Goodbye if the Planet Warms 2 Degrees Celsius: WWF

Though the jury is still out on whether global warming had anything to do with large numbers of dead penguins washing ashore in Brazil back in July, according to a report from WWF if global warming increases temperatures by 2 degrees Celsius more than half of Antarctica's colonies of Emperor penguins could be wiped out.
WWF’s Antarctic Climate Change Coordinator, Juan Casavelos, described the problem as very serious, “Antarctica and the Arctic are the most threatened regions from climate change. In the Antarctic Peninsular, the temperature has risen 2.5°C in the past 50 years, which is five times faster than the global average.” Casavelos went on to describe how these temperature increases have impacted penguins:
50% Drop in Penguin Populations in 50 YearsCasavelos said that in the past 50 years in which temperatures have been rising in the Antarctic, emperor penguin populations have declined by 50 percent. 等於栽種100萬棵樹‧鄭雨週要釀10萬桶酵素
(檳城)鄭雨週不僅要在檳城種植100萬棵樹,還要醞釀10萬桶環保酵素,為大地恢復綠色植被及生態林貢獻力量!
丹絨武雅區州議員鄭雨週週六(4日)下午聯合生活藝術協會成員,在丹絨武雅區水池路主持“全檳第一家酵素谷”開幕儀式時承諾,他會努力實踐種植100萬棵樹的競選諾言。與此同時,他也增加了一項新計劃,那就是醞釀10萬桶環保酵素,做為丹絨武雅區環保的大目標!
“全檳第一家酵素谷”開幕
他解釋,根據泰國教授樂素坤的研究報告顯示,每種植一棵樹將會釋放出40加侖的氧氣,足夠200人使用;而每一桶環保酵素在發酵過程所釋放出來的氧氣,則相等於在種10萬棵樹。
“生產10萬桶酵素就等於栽種100萬棵樹,對環保必然有很大的幫助!種樹與製造酵素這兩個目標都是同等的重要,皆是未來要努力實踐的大目標。”
他說,種樹和製酵素都可以把我們居住的地方變成一個淨土。前者可以綠化環境、平衡生態,後者則能夠淨化空氣、河流及活化受化學肥料破壞的泥土。
吁公眾商家支持環保計劃
“我要特別感謝丹絨武雅居民溫進敬,借出他在水池路上的工廠後院做為製做酵素。這個場地目前是檳城的第一家,至少可以存放百餘桶的環保酵素。未來,我們還會建立更多更多的酵素谷。”
他呼吁公眾、企業商家多多支持這項環保計劃,如能支援,歡迎提供30至120公升的有蓋塑膠空桶及紅糖原料,讓丹絨武雅的酵素谷可以達成生產10萬桶酵素的目標,降低溫室效應帶來的衝擊。

The Large Hadron Collider (LHC)

Our understanding of the Universe is about to change...
The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is a gigantic scientific instrument near Geneva, where it spans the border between Switzerland and France about 100 m underground. It is a particle accelerator used by physicists to study the smallest known particles – the fundamental building blocks of all things. It will revolutionise our understanding, from the minuscule world deep within atoms to the vastness of the Universe.
Two beams of subatomic particles called 'hadrons' – either protons or lead ions – will travel in opposite directions inside the circular accelerator, gaining energy with every lap. Physicists will use the LHC to recreate the conditions just after the Big Bang, by colliding the two beams head-on at very high energy. Teams of physicists from around the world will analyse the particles created in the collisions using special detectors in a number of experiments dedicated to the LHC.
There are many theories as to what will result from these collisions, but what's for sure is that a brave new world of physics will emerge from the new accelerator, as knowledge in particle physics goes on to describe the workings of the Universe. For decades, the Standard Model of particle physics has served physicists well as a means of understanding the fundamental laws of Nature, but it does not tell the whole story. Only experimental data using the higher energies reached by the LHC can push knowledge forward, challenging those who seek confirmation of established knowledge, and those who dare to dream beyond the paradigm.
CERN in a nutshell
CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, is one of the world’s largest and most respected centres for scientific research. Its business is fundamental physics, finding out what the Universe is made of and how it works. At CERN, the world’s largest and most complex scientific instruments are used to study the basic constituents of matter — the fundamental particles. By studying what happens when these particles collide, physicists learn about the laws of Nature.
The instruments used at CERN are particle accelerators and detectors. Accelerators boost beams of particles to high energies before they are made to collide with each other or with stationary targets. Detectors observe and record the results of these collisions.
Founded in 1954, the CERN Laboratory sits astride the Franco–Swiss border near Geneva. It was one of Europe’s first joint ventures and now has 20 Member States.

自信来至家人的肯定,肯定来至家人的鼓励
当一个人丢了自信心,就什么都做不成。不论你在家里,公司或是在商场,自信的却是不可却少的。一场交易就这么泡汤了如果没有自信在身;上司也不会交给一位没有自信的员工去和客户打交道;平时谈判也会输人一筹,这就是现实的社会。
其实现今时代的父母,都非常地关心她们孩子的自信心。今天,你会看见很多的父母都会陪伴他们的宝贝一起去掺加活动,过分的会陪他们一起在学校;目的是为了他们的宝贝不会给朋友老师欺负,伤了他们的自信心。在乡村小地,有可能会比较少类似的情况发生,因为人情味比较重,都是邻居吗!这也是两种阶级典型 (norm) 的差别。
我认为身为父母亲的,因该给以他们的孩子适当的鼓励与肯定,真的不可以忽略。我也是做了两个孩子的父亲才发觉的。其实我的自信是我的老婆找回的,因为她给了我肯定与鼓励。

Every person will be follow the norm where he/she stay in and live in. The environment and atmosphere will be the factor to the norm. If you behave like "A" in Kampong, you are looking one kind by kampong boy. The other way round, when you behave like kampong boy, you will be criticized. Hope some person can understand of this. Please be considered when critisized.

Sustainable, clean and convinient alternative energy !
I manage to view some article on the word leading giant oil company resently - "SHELL". They are keen to educate the new generation and promote the new alternative energy after their fuel gas product. They know that the fossil fuels will be finish one day and the impact of the global warming will become worst with todays situation. An alternative energy solution should be provoke widely. As far as my understanding, SHELL is the first oil company to have a big skill of research on the bio-fuel in the world.

Energy, energy everywhere and all for the taking – but how best to take it? Fossil fuels will likely remain the world’s main energy source for many decades to come, but at the same time, sustainable, clean and convenient energy sources will increasingly be needed to meet growing demand.
Biofuels
Enzymes eating away at straw. Oil squeezed from algae. Or wood chips turned to liquid. These are just some of the technical programs Shell is pursuing in developing better biofuels that could see CO2 reductions and a sustainable alternative fuel source that doesn’t compete with food crops.
Wind
Wind power is one of the cleanest sources of energy available. It’s also renewable and plentiful.
Solar
The sun is continually beaming abundant energy to the Earth as light, and for centuries people have captured solar radiation and converted it into useful power using a number of technologies. Shell, too, has been investigating and developing technologies designed to capture and use these plentiful, carbon-free rays. Solar panels have long provided an answer, but now technology developments have moved their design forward, making them increasingly affordable as well as less dependent on silicon. CIS or ‘thin film solar’ greatly simplifies the production process and results in a smooth black panel that absorbs the sun’s power, even in low light.
Hydrogen
Hydrogen, the simplest element in the universe and the most plentiful gas on earth is being developed into energy through a clever process of steam reformation.
Often touted as being “as clean as water” and the “fuel of the future,” high hopes are held for hydrogen power - from running your car, to heating your home.
Our technology focus at Shell is on learning as much as possible about hydrogen refueling and how to meet future customer needs. This means hydrogen will initially be obtained mainly from natural gas, but ultimately we expect to produce hydrogen from renewables, such as wind, solar and, one day, biomass.

根据独立民调中心(Merdeka Center)的调查报告 :
■ 28%接受调查者满意我国的现状;换言之,不满意现状者就高达71%
■ 一共有59%的回应者认为,经济课题是导致我国现况的最主要原因,而认为政治课题为最重要者也在逐步增加。
■ 共有62%认为, 我国政府在今年6月4日宣布调高燃油价格,造成连锁性的涨价风潮,人民普遍上都持“不满”与“悲观”的态度。在调高油价的同时,政府也宣布将石油津贴省下的钱,用作津贴粮食以及协助低收入人士;可悲的是,民调却显示,超过半数的回应者相信这一笔钱,最终会落入有政治关联的人士手里 (下图)。

■ 整体而言,40%的回应者对国阵履行大选诺言有信心,而对民联有信心的回应者则有45%。 ■ 相反地,共有55%的回应者明确地表示,不相信国阵会兑现大选诺言,也有43%的回应者表示对民联没有信心。
■ 对于现任首相阿都拉的表现,就有42%的回应者表示满意,不过却有54%的回应者不满意阿都拉任职首相的表现。
■ 阿都拉钦点的接班人纳吉,也有34%的回应者对他的领导有信心,47%并不认为纳吉可以成为一个好的首相,17%的回应者则回答不知道。
■ 在接受调查的1030位各族人士当中,共有55%不相信针对安华的鸡奸指控,66%认为这是一宗政治阴谋,目的就是抹杀安华的政治前景。
■ 更甚的是,有更多的人都对司法以及执法机关失去信心,认为这些机关无法在安华鸡奸案中秉公处事。
■ 当这些接受调查的公众人士受询,在处理安华鸡奸的案件上,分别对我国司法制度、总检察署以及警察是否有信心时,竟然只有将近30%的人回答有信心,近半人数都表示没有信心。
■ 若以民族相隔统计,国内三大民族(华、巫、印)都有超过一半的接受调查者,不相信安华会犯上鸡奸罪。其中,有50%的巫裔回应者如此认为,而华裔和印裔则分别59%和75%。

吳秀麗吁民眾配合政府 善用垃圾酵素淨化柔府河
(大山腳)武吉丁雅州議員吳秀麗呼吁民眾,即日起善用垃圾酵素,與政府配合共同淨化河流,讓柔府河永久脫離污染河流之排名。
她是為威省市政局21世紀地方議程小組、水利灌溉局、學校、武吉丁雅區非政府組織及其他相關部門,在武吉敏惹水壩聯辦的“環境醒覺運動”主持推展儀式時,這麼說。
以酵素替代家庭清洗劑
吳秀麗說,自制垃圾酵素可替代家庭清洗劑進行清洗工作,如洗地板、碗碟、馬桶、水溝及其他等,不僅經濟實惠和效用大,日後也可協助淨化柔府河的受污染程度。
她說,柔府河是東南亞其中一條最骯髒的河流,每年水利灌溉局都耗巨資進行漂白和清潔工作,但因民眾對愛護河流的意識不夠強,所以河流的污染程度,一直都沒改善。
她強調,民眾的參與和配合非常重要,若人人都有環保的心態,我國的自然環境如河流,將不會像今日,受到污染。

外用酵素的做法
把3公斤的鮮垃圾(剩飯果皮)、1公斤紅砂糖及10公升的水倒入容器內即可開始釀製,當3樣物品都放入容器之後,就把容器封起來,後右轉讓容器內的物品融為一體。鮮垃圾包括剩飯、鮮樹葉、水果皮、準備丟掉的蔬菜或植物。第一步驟:將1公斤黑砂糖倒入10公升淨水容器。加入砂糖時,用手入內,順著時鐘方向繞...第二步驟:將剩菜及水果皮裝入容器,靜待3個月發酵期即可。做法1.首先把水和黑糖顺时方向搅均后再放入菜渣/果皮(水果切片),需留一些空间让它发酵(10份之3的空间)。2.必需发酵至少三个月。在酿制过程不需担心将会产生臭气,只需将容器盖好。3.需让黑糖水盖过垃圾,把浮在液体面上的垃圾按下去,使其埋在液体中。4.垃圾液应该呈棕黄色,有橘子般的刺激气味。5.如果液体呈现黑色,即是腐败不成功了。6.如发现苍蝇卵,不必担心也不用对它进行处理。7.发现家里的苍蝇不见了,这因酿制过程的化学反应会把苍蝇扼杀在摇篮里。8.酿制完后的垃圾渣可以拿来晒干,搅碎后埋在土里作肥料,或者继续留放在缸底和下次的鲜垃圾再次酿制垃圾酵素。透过简单的办法来制做环保酵素,我们就可以为环境提供臭氧O3:分解所得的臭氧(O3)有杀菌的功能,而且还帮助增加空气中氧气的含量,这就减少了空气中的废气和毒气。酵素的特点1.酵素的功能有分解,转化,重组,催化的作用。 2.酵素(如光合菌)可耐100 ℃以上高温。3.酵素在养分充足条件下,PH 值在3.5 以下也能正常生存。4.生成抗氧化蛋白质及低分子的抗氧化物质的功能,防止物质及细胞的劣化、衰变及老化。
“环保酵素”用料简单,不过是菜渣、果皮、黑糖和水。
■ 这一杯鲜红色的“环保酵素”用途甚广。除了可以清洁空气;拿来洗碗碟、洗衣、当成天然清洁露。也可以当成天然化肥,浇在泥土里,令植物更加肥沃。
■ “环保酵素”必需发酵至少三个月。在酿制过程不需担心将会产生臭气,只需将容器盖好。 垃圾酵素加水稀釋後更強,用法:
1. 酵素肥料。 1cc酵素:100cc水
2. 酵素殺蟲劑(昆蟲)。 1cc酵素:1,000cc水
3. 酵素空氣清新劑。 1cc酵素:200cc水
4. 種植、栽培花草、水果。 1cc酵素:500cc水
5. 消毒用。 1cc酵素:500cc水
6. 洗髮液、沐浴露,洗衣液,洗碗用。 1份酵素:1份洗潔液:10份水

大家來做環保酵素 拯救地球!!
酵素簡介
酵素是人體內特殊且複雜的蛋白質,它也是人體新陳代謝中化學變化最重要的媒介體。沒有酵素,人體就不會有化學變化及新陳代謝,當然也不會有生命。人體內各器官與成千上萬種酵素互相配合運作,但部分酵素是會損耗的,雖說人體會自行補充酵素,但大部分的酵素還是須依靠平日的食物給予補充。酵素若補充不足,將導致體內部分器官新陳代謝受阻,各類病痛隨之出現,生命也將亮起紅燈。利用廚房垃圾製造環保酵素,既可省錢,更有效去除怪氣味、霉菌、塵垢及油污等,還能保護環境,何樂而不為呢?吉輦佛教會昨晚特邀請自然療法醫師–溫秀枝醫師,為吉輦民眾講解,有關如何將垃圾酵素運用在家居生活上。溫秀枝醫師指出,溫室效應使地球溫度節節上升,冰山溶化、海面上升、陸地面積減少,對大家都有切身關係,希望大家可以響應,親身參與制造環保酵素,共同拯救地球。「人類不斷進步,但人類所發明的物品卻未顧及隨之所帶來的禍害,尤其是地球的臭氧層嚴重受到破壞。」他表示,人們可自製臭氧,即通過從澱粉及糖的化學轉化而得到的酸性物質--CH3COOH溶解在水中後,這個酸性物質解體成分解澱粉,脂肪及蛋白質的醋酸基。「從中取得的臭氧有殺菌功能,而且能增加空氣中氧的含量,這有助減少空氣中的廢氣與毒氣。」他說,環保酵素能自然有效分解和消滅有害微生物及人工化學污染,酵素也取代了家中的化學清潔用品,最後也會流入下水道,還可一起淨化河流與海洋,保護我們的環境。他指出,制造環保酵素其實很簡單,釀製過程不須擔心會產生臭氣,只要將釀製的容器蓋好,釀製三個月。他說,主動巡迴公開垃圾酵素製造法,非為個人利益,旨在提倡眾人關心環境保護,為了下一代而努力。如果所有的人都把家裡的垃圾轉化為有用的垃圾酵素,不僅保護臭氧層,而且會使人類生活在沒有毒害的空氣裡,食物也將是遠離毒素的。

鄭雨週建議水利局用環保酵素 漂白河海
(檳城10日訊)丹絨武雅區州議員鄭雨週建議水利灌溉局,深入了解環保酵素的功能后,應用在漂白受污染的河流和海灘。
他說,利用廚房廢料製作的環保酵素,比起其他漂白方法,成本更低。
“水利灌溉局也可以通過撥款方式,由非政府組織或社區領養當地的河流,利用環保酵素定期進行漂白工作。”
他週四在環保酵素講座記者會上,這么說。
生活藝術協會于本週六晚上7時30分,在韓江中學室內體育館主辦環保酵素講座和示范如何在家製作環保酵素,由自然療法醫師溫秀枝主講,入場免費,出席者將獲贈送1瓶環保酵素。
用垃圾製作酵素
鄭雨週說,酵素可以有效分解人工化學污染物,不僅可以替代一般家中的清潔用品,是最自然有效的方法,它還可以淨化河流和海洋,治標又治本的解決海洋污染問題。
所以,他的選區服務隊將和生活藝朮協會建立合作伙伴關係,成立行動小組從教育和行動雙管其下,在丹絨武雅州選區定期推廣酵素,成為其他州選區參考的模范。
溫秀枝說,廚房廢料就這樣丟棄會危害地球,這些廚余會釋放比二氧化碳套住熱氣更高21倍的甲烷汽體,使地球的氣溫上升。
她說,只要家家戶戶都把自己家裡的垃圾轉化為有用的環保酵素,不僅可以拯救地球和臭氧層,減少污染和全球暖化現象,保護我們的下一代。

Global Warming Crisis vs Water World !
Think ! What happen when the rising of the sea levers cover the city where you stay due to global warming crisis ? It remind me the movie call "Water world", screened in the cinema many years ago where the entire world was destroyed and burying under the sea. When global warming raises the sea levels and wipes out most of the large cities of the world. We can rest assured that our floating lilypad cities will protect us and form a utopic society where we will all wear togas and be peaceful prosperous people celebrating scientific achievements. Until the aliens come and destroy us that is.

With a lake at its centre to collect and purify rainwater, it would be accessed by three separate marinas and feature artificial mountains to offer the inhabitants a change of scenery from the seascape.
Mr Callebaut said: 'The design of the city is inspired by the shape of the great Amazonia Victoria Regia lilypad. Some countries spend billions of pounds working on making their beaches and dams bigger and stronger.

Waste-To-Energy Plant - Incineration Plant
Well, I didn't feel strange at all with the word "Incineration". It remembrance me back few years ago the new established company "Planet Care" to impose the Incineration plant project in Malaysia. It was passed anyway.
Incineration plant always give an impression to people a high polluted and emission of rediation substance plant. This is because it used to incinerate rubbish, and the substances will become a toxic to human if not manage properly. Today, the energy become a concernment for the human due to abatement of raw material, such as oil. Incineration become a focus point again of alternative solution for energy production. It destruct the waste and at the same time turn the waste to energy and produce the electricity to us. In fact, with today's technology we can able to incinerate different type of waste according to categary, such as :
- Wastewaters
- Salty wastewaters
- Chemical (liquid) waste
- High LCV off-gas, sulphurized and chlorinated (用氯或氯化物进行处理或化合) waste
- Aluminium containing flexible packaging waste
- Hospital waste
- Solid waste (daily rubbish)
Whatever way, the incineration should be impose at the right place with the right way which will give the minimum impact to environment serounding.

What is Grass?
Grass is the common name for the Gramineae family of plants. With more than 9,000 known species, this family is one of the largest on Earth. Grass is extremely important to most people's lives, whether they know it or not. For one thing, grass is a major food source all over the world. Rice, corn and oats come from grass plants, for example, and most livestock animals feed primarily on grasses. In some parts of the world, people use grass plants in construction (bamboo is a grass, for example), and wherever it grows, grass plays a vital role in curbing erosion. Grass is also used to make sugar, liquor, bread and plastics, among many other things. Grasses have a very simple structure, and a very simple way of life. You can better grasp what grass needs when you understand how it actually functions in the world. At the base of the grass plant, roots grow down into the earth. Typically, grass roots are fibrous, or threadlike. They extend into the soil like fingers, collecting nutrients, soaking up water and securing the plant to the ground.

Narrow leaves extend out from the culms, above each node. The leaves alternate in direction. That is, if the first leaf on a culm grows to the right, the second leaf will grow to left and the third leaf will grow to the right and so on.
The lower part of the leaf is called the sheath, and the upper part is called the blade. In most grasses, a ligule surrounds the connection between the sheath and the blade. A ligule can take the form of a thin membrane or a fringe of hair-like projections.
Like the leaves on a tree, grass leaves serve to collect energy from sunlight through photosynthesis. The photosynthesizing chlorophyll in the leaf gives grass its green color.
There are two major methods of reproduction in grasses. Some grasses have additional stems that grow sideways, either below ground or just above it. Stems that creep along the ground are called stolons, and stems that grow below ground are called rhizomes. Grasses use stolons and rhizomes to reach out and establish new grass culms. The stoleon or rhizome nurtures the new plant until it is strong enough to survive on its own.
Grasses also have flowers. The small flowers in most grass species are known as florets. Florets grow together in small groups called spikelets, which collectively form inflorescences. Flowers produce the spores that pollinate other flowers, which produce seeds. With any luck, some of the seeds will grow new healthy grass plants. (This site explains grass reproduction in detail.)
In some grasses, such as corn, the stem and the flowering part of the plant are obvious. But in lawn grasses, the long thin leaves overshadow the other elements of the plant. Unless you're up close, all you see is green stalks.

"Big Tree" concept !
Thinking of the "Big Tree" concept which might become a reality in the near future.
The basic parts of the "Big Tree" are the trunk, roots, Leaves, branches and twigs.
- The entire building (in cone sharp); Trunk
- The piping to supply underground waste water or rain water from roof top into the farm inside the building; Root and branches
- The solar plate to supply energy from sunlight for internal lighting , machine, water pump; Leaves
- The internal building's electric cables or circuitry to connect to the solar plate; Twigs
Inside the "Big Tree" building is a vegetable farm and fruit farm planting in a systematic row. The entire building's electricity power supply will be getting from solar energy reserve power. The waste water or rain water that drain out from the farm can be reuse. The wall and the roof top will be build in glasses so that the sun light can enlighten the entire farm.
The “Big Tree” building also can become centre commercial place for dining, exercises, meeting and so on. The restaurant can be serve the fresh vegetables and fruits supply directly from the “Big Tree” farm. All the waste vegetables, fruits in this building will be reuse to ferment the enzyme. Enzyme is a best fertilizer for the farm. It also works as a cleaning agent inside the whole building.

Mike covered the Vertical Farm ideas of Dr. Dickson Despommier earlier, and my, how they have grown. New York Magazine has a spectacular spread on his vision of "a cluster of 30-story towers on Governors Island or in Hudson Yards producing fruit, vegetables, and grains while also generating clean energy and purifying wastewater. Roughly 150 such buildings, Despommier estimates, could feed the entire city of New York for a year. Using current green building systems, a vertical farm could be self-sustaining and even produce a net output of clean water and energy." A lot has changed since the idea was first proposed. Local has become the new buzzword, we now weigh the carbon footprint of our food, and there have been a few recent disasters in our food production system that make one want to look the farmer in the face. As New York says "Cities already have the density and infrastructure needed to support vertical farms, and super-green skyscrapers could supply not just food but energy, creating a truly self-sustaining environment." Imagine an urban highrise CSA where we just walk across the street from our highrise to the next to pick our dinner. The article is like the Popular Science Moonbase of the Future essays of my childhood, in a round structure "Inspired by the Capitol Records building in Hollywood."

We love how "Wastewater taken from the city’s sewage system is treated through a series of filters, then sterilized, yielding gray water—which is not drinkable but can be used for irrigation. (Currently, the city throws 1.4 billion gallons of treated wastewater into the rivers each day.)" -this isn't just growing vegetables, it is an urban battery, taking waste and solar energy and producing food, clean water and electricity.
Fores : Very impressive idea !! The water can get from wastewater or collecting from rain water. All the lighting, motor engines, doors can use solar energy to work. The whole building just like a big tree standing in the middle of the city, use in cellular respiration and producing plant photosynthesis to filter the air. But how much do you think it will cost to build such a "Big Tree" ?
China’s Plastic Bag Ban is Working

It may be have only been in place for a month so far, but initial reports by the Worldwatch Institute show that China’s ban on free plastic bags is having a definite impact. In Guangzou City the use of plastic bags in supermarkets has been cut in half, while in some supermarkets in Beijing use of plastic bags has dropped by 90 percent. ...

How to apply "H2O" formula to save petrol fuel !
1) Air/gas (H2) - Hydrogen
- What I can imagine is by using air to energize or to move the car. Something like hydraulic pump. It utilizes the pressure of air to move. Consider environmental because no need raw sources.
2) Water (O2) - Oxygen
- Replacing water with petrol fuel. The car will produce out Oxygen when the water is used up. You can imagine the car produce out oxygen instead of carbon dioxide running on the road. It's really environmental. Malaysian Transport Minister (Ong Tee Keat 翁诗杰) had mentioned before we might get the technology from Japan very soon on running the car by using water in the future.

Starbucks has a bitter plan
Starbucks (SBUX) can’t catch a break. The coffee retailer says it will close 600 stores, about 8.5% of its 7,100 total stores, an expansion of the 100-store closing target it had previously announced.
The Seattle coffee chain has been feeling the pinch of a tightening economy. In February, the company fired 600 employees and conducted a in-store retraining program to try and revive the Starbuck Experience, as CEO Howard Schultz has called it.
Starbucks says it is trying to cull unprofitable stores from the franchise and expects to book $200 million of asset write-offs in the third quarter related to the closings. Starbucks shares are down 40% over the past year.
In April, when Starbucks warned that profits for the first quarter would be 6 cents below the 21-cents-per-share Wall Street target, Schultz said the turnaround plan wasn’t taking hold.
“The current economic environment is the weakest in our company’s history, marked by lower home values, and rising costs for energy, food and other products that are directly impacting our customers,” Schultz said at the time. Schultz returned as CEO in January, replacing Jim Donald. As a story by Fortune’s David Stires pointed out, Schultz is trying to undo the exuberant expansion effort of his predecessor Donald who wanted to triple the number of stores to 40,000 with half in the U.S. and the rest abroad.
